About Furst Class Fungi
At Furst Class Fungi, our story began with a dream—well, technically, a COVID dream. In July 2020, Matt had the idea to turn his passion for mushrooms into something bigger: a Denver-based mushroom farm focused on growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms for our community. Together, we dove headfirst into the world of fungi, taking commercial cultivation and medicinal mushroom classes online with our good friend Willie from Fungi Ally.
With Matt’s contracting background and a whole lot of determination, we transformed our three-car garage into our very first grow room. By May 2021, we were proudly harvesting our first flush of mushrooms—fresh, flavorful, and nutrient-packed.
Since then, our small dream has grown into Denver’s go-to source for locally grown gourmet mushrooms. From delicate oyster mushrooms to meaty lion’s mane and immune-boosting shiitake, we’ve built our business on delivering mushrooms that are as fresh as they are functional.
Through every stage of growth, our mission has stayed the same: to bring the freshest farm-to-table mushrooms in Denver, grown with care, sustainability, and a little bit of fungi magic.
